Maintenance and Materials

What materials are your jewelry made of?

We sell various brands, and therefore, the jewelry is made from different materials. This information is always provided in the jewelry's description. Tip: also check out the pages about the brands we sell on the site; they also contain information about the materials used.

What is the difference between Gold filled & Gold plated?

With gold-filled jewelry, a thick layer of real gold is bonded to another material using heat and pressure. Usually, this other material is brass, copper, or sterling silver. This technique creates a much thicker layer of gold (compared to gold-plated jewelry), and the difference from solid gold jewelry is difficult to distinguish. The minimum thickness of the gold is 5% or 1/20 of the total weight.

Contrary to the name, gold-filled jewelry is not jewelry filled with gold. It refers to the thick outer layer of 2 or 3 layers of gold.

Gold-plated jewelry is gilded jewelry. A thin layer of gold is applied over a base metal. This base metal can consist of sterling silver, brass, or copper, for example.

Does the jewelry discolor?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the jewelry will not discolor. This depends on various factors such as the acidity of your skin, the frequency with which you wear your jewelry, and the conditions in which you wear your jewelry. However, we believe it's important that it remains as beautiful as possible, which is why we choose brands that use high-quality materials, just like our own brand.

Is there a warranty on your products?

Yes, you have a three-month warranty on jewelry that breaks. Should this unfortunately happen, please send an email to info@bertsieraden.nl with your details, and we will be happy to resolve this for you.

We do not offer a warranty on discoloration of the jewelry.

Can I shower with my jewelry?

No, in principle, it's best for your jewelry to take it off when you shower. If you would like to buy jewelry that can withstand water and/or soap, you can buy jewelry from the brand LeJu in our webshop.

How do I know if a piece of jewelry fits me?

The description of the products indicates the size of the jewelry.

To easily measure your ring size, we have the following methods:

Method 1: You already have a suitable ring: If you have a ring that already fits well, it is easiest to use that. Take a ruler and measure the diameter of the inside of the ring (not the edge). The number of millimeters is the ring size, so if you see 17 mm, your size is 17.
Method 2: you don't have a suitable ring: Then measure the circumference of your finger with a string. Place a string around your finger, make sure it's not too tight; it still needs to go over the knuckle! Take a ruler and place the string on it:

Size 16 = 50.3 mm

Size 17 = 53.5 mm

Size 18 = 56.5 mm

Size 19 = 60 mm

Production and Delivery

What are the shipping costs?

All orders above €75 are shipped free of charge. Below €75, the shipping costs are €3.95. If products do not fit in an envelope (for orders under €75), different shipping costs apply.

A small letterbox package costs €5.95, and a large package costs €6.95. You can see this when checking out your products.

When will I receive my order?

After your order has been received by us, it will take approximately 3 working days for it to be shipped. The package will then be sent with PostNL, and they will deliver it to your home as soon as possible.

How do I know if my order has been shipped?

You will receive an email when your order has been shipped.

Which countries do you ship to and what are the costs?

We ship to the Netherlands for free, and shipping costs are calculated for Belgium.

Are your products also available for sale in our own store?

Yes, how nice of you to ask! The products of our own brand: BERT Sieraden, are also available for retailers. Please send an email about this to info@bertsieraden.nl, and we will explain to you how this works.

Exchanges and Returns

Can I return my products?

Returns

Send an email to info@bertsieraden.nl; please include your name, order number, and reason for return.

All your purchases* have a 14-day cooling-off period. After this period, we will not accept return purchases.

During this period, you can return the order unworn, undamaged in its original packaging, with a note containing your name and order number in the return package.

*PLEASE NOTE: Custom-made products cannot be returned or exchanged!

After we have received an email and the undamaged items back, we will refund the cost of the item. Return costs are at your own expense.

Did you also pay shipping costs when ordering? If the entire order is returned, you will also receive back the shipping costs incurred, and you will only pay the return costs.

Can I exchange my products?

Exchanges

If you wish to exchange an item for a different size, color, or a completely different item, we will send the new items free of charge. Please contact us in advance at info@bertsieraden.nl

All your purchases* have a 14-day cooling-off period. After this period, we will not accept exchanges.
