Maintenance and Materials

What materials are your jewelry made of?

We sell different brands and the jewelry is made of different materials. This is always stated in the description of the jewelry. Tip: also look at the pages about the brands we sell on the site, there is also information about the materials that are used.

What is the difference between Gold filled & Gold plated?

In gold filled jewelry, a thick layer of real gold is bonded to another material by heat and pressure. Usually this other material is brass, copper or sterling silver. This technique creates a much thicker layer of gold (compared to gold plated jewelry) and the difference with a fully gold jewelry is difficult to distinguish. The minimum thickness of the gold is 5% or 1/20 of the total weight.

Contrary to the name, gold filled jewelry is not jewelry that is filled with gold. It is about the thick outer layer of 2 or 3 layers of gold.

Gold plated jewelry is gold plated jewelry. A layer of gold is poured over a base metal. This base metal can consist of sterling silver, brass or copper.

Do the jewelry discolor?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the jewelry will not discolor. This has to do with all kinds of factors such as: the acidity of your skin, the frequency that you wear your jewelry and the circumstances in which you wear your jewelry. However, we do find it important that it remains as beautiful as possible, which is why we choose brands that use high-quality materials, just like our own brand.

Do your products come with a warranty?

Yes, you have a three-month warranty on jewelry that breaks. If this is unexpectedly the case, send an email to info@bertsieraden.nl with your details and we will be happy to resolve this with you.

We do not provide any guarantee against discolouration of the jewellery.

Can I shower with my jewelry?

No, in principle it is best for your jewelry to take it off when you shower. If you want to buy jewelry that can withstand water and/or soap, you can buy jewelry from the brand: LeJu in our webshop.

How do I know if a piece of jewelry fits me?

The size of a piece of jewelry is stated in the product description.

To easily measure your ring size, we have the following methods:

Method 1: You already have a ring that fits: If you have a ring that already fits well, it is easiest to use that. Take a ruler and measure the diameter of the inside of the ring (so not the edge). The number of millimeters is the ring size, so if you see 17 mm then your size is 17.
Method 2: You don't have a fitting ring: Then measure the circumference of your finger with a piece of string. Place a piece of string around your finger, be careful not to make it too tight, it should still go over the knuckle! Take a ruler and place the string on it:

Size 16 = 50.3 mm

Size 17 = 53.5 mm

Size 18 = 56.5 mm

Size 19 = 60 mm

Production and Delivery

What are the shipping costs?

All orders over €75,- are shipped for free. Below €75,- the shipping costs are €2,95. If products do not fit in an envelope (for orders below €75,-) there are other shipping costs involved.

A small letterbox package is €5.95 and a large package is €6.95. You can see this when checking out your products.

When will I receive my order?

After your order has been received by us, it will take +/- 3 working days before it is shipped. The package will then go with PostNL and they will deliver it to your home as soon as possible.

How do I know if my order has been shipped?

You will receive an email when your order is shipped.

Which countries do you ship to and how much does this cost?

We ship to the Netherlands for free and to Belgium shipping costs are charged.

Are your products also for sale in our own store?

Yes, how nice that you ask about this! The products of our own brand: BERT Sieraden, are also for sale to retailers. Send an e-mail about this to info@bertsieraden.nl and we will explain further how this works.

Exchanges and Returns

Can I return my products?

Returns

Send an email to info@bertsieraden.nl; state your name, order number and reason for return.

All your purchases* have a 14-day inspection period. After this period, we will not accept any returns.

During this period you can return the order unworn and undamaged in the original packaging, with a note with your name and order number in the return packaging.

*PLEASE NOTE: Custom made products cannot be returned or exchanged!

After we have received an email and the items returned undamaged, we will refund the cost of the item. Return costs are at your own expense.

Did you also pay shipping costs when ordering? If the entire order is returned, you will also receive the shipping costs back and you will only pay the return costs.

Can I exchange my products?

If you want to exchange an item for a different size, color or a completely different item, we will send the new items free of charge. Please contact us in advance via info@bertsieraden.nl

All your purchases* have a 14-day inspection period. After this period, we will not accept any exchanges.
